A few places that have proven to be extremely useful for me:
Babelfish World Translation, the place that helps you translate simple text or web pages content, from or to main international languages This service is provided by Altavista: http://babelfish.altavista.com
The Hardware Book, originally created by Joakim Ögren. This site is one of best places when looking for a pinout description for some mysterious connector (but not limited to the mysterious category :) The home address for HwB is now http://www.hardwarebook.net. The site has been recently updated, therefore it may be a good idea to ignore any other mirror around the web.
The Chip Directory, created by Jaap van Ganswijk. This is a huge database for electronic active components, with further links to almost all electronic component manufacturers. The home address for ChipDir is http://www.xs4all.nl/~ganswijk/chipdir/index.htm. There are also many online mirrors around the web. Consult ChipDir’s World Wide Mirror Sites section.
Internet Movie DataBase, the place to find almost everything you want to know about your favorite artist. The home address for IMDB is ... you bet, http://www.imdb.com.
