Notes:
The +3 software included here may have something modified and/or added (by me) with respect to their original release version (either original tape or original 3” CF-2 disk). If that is the case, the modification is clearly mentioned.
All +3 software included here is based on the standard +3DOS disk handling routines.
All +3 software included here can be loaded from either logical disk drive. There is no coercion for using the (floppy) disk drive A: only.
None of them is based on (multiface) snapshots. I hate them !

Software for the +3

Software for the PC

Note: MSDOS programs will most likely not run under 64bit Windows versions.

Suggested solutions for file transfer between MS-DOS environment and *.DSK disk image files, suitable for use with +3 Spectrum emulators:

  • Use the CPCDiskXP disk utility available from CPCMANIA site
  • Use the CPCXfs program, based on CPCfs; this program was originally developed by Derik van Zütphen (© 1996-1998) and improved by Kevin Thacker (© 2000-2010); for +3 compatibility, use ZX0 parameter (for 180K disk image format), or ZX3 parameter (for 720K disk image format)

Note: the CPCXfs program is published here with the explicit permission form Kevin Thacker; in any case, CPCXfs program home location is under the download section of The Unofficial Amstrad WWW Resource site.

Suggested solutions for file transfer between MS-DOS environment and physical +3DOS compatible 720K DS DD diskettes:

  • Use the PCW Explorer disk browser developed by John Elliott to handle individual CP/M files with the PC’s floppy drive(s)
  • Use the Slowdos program developed by Dominic Morris to copy MS-DOS files directly with the +3
  • Search the World of Spectrum site for any available and/or suitable disk transfer utility program
  • Use the PC2PLUS3 (.ZIP, 231K) patch based on the 22DISK conversion program from Sydex to handle individual CP/M files with the PC’s floppy drive(s)
